Universal Orlando Resort has grown over the years and has more than enough attractions to keep everyone busy. Universal Orlando was born back in 1990 with the opening of Universal Studios Orlando.

Universal Studios theme park lets visitors 'ride the movie'. It resembles the Universal park in Hollywood, CA and has some iconic sets (like the house from Psycho). The park is set up in six zones - Hollywood, Production Central, New York, San Francisco / Amity, World Expo and KidZone. There is a lot to see in this park and many of the attractions allow for audience participation. You can get scared by riding the Mummy or get a behind the scenes look at how a scene is filmed. There is also the famous 'Jaws' ride, where you come face to face with the great white. Their newest ride is due to open in the Spring 2009 and is called the Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit. The roller coaster will be a welcomed addition that is supposed to offer a 'record breaking' loop.

They are even building a new island themed after the Harry Potter series. That attraction is slated to open in 2010.

Universal City Walk is the resort's entertainment distal rict. Restaurants, shopping and the Blue Man Group all can be found here. There are even some night clubs for those that love the night life. Among the restaurants you'll find - Margaritaville, NBA City Cafe, Nascar Cafe, Hard Rock and Hard Rock Live, and Emeril's. The night clubs at City Walk - Latin Quarter, The Groove, Pat O'Brians, Rising Star, Bob Marley's, Red Coconut, and Cigarz. There is even a huge movie theater here...just in case you need a break from all the excitement.

There are many hotels in the area and Universal Orlando Resort operates a few right on it's property. Staying at one of these hotels allows extra perks. Easy transportation to the parks is great.
